Since the closure of Tenby’s only cinema ‘Films4Tenby’ have run a bi-monthly film club at the Fourcroft Hotel. ‘Films4Tenby’ is run by a group of very enthusiastic people who volunteer themselves and their equipment to bring the shared cinematic experience to the community. Earlier this year they organised a pop-up cinema weekend where they screened films in the most unusual of places!
On the Saturday they organised a free Film Skills Workshop for the Narberth Youth Theatre. It gave the participants a chance to experience a realistic film set environment.
The young people were either in front of the camera or part of the film crew. They chose to shoot a scene from Macbeth and followed a shooting script, ‘shot’ it and recorded sound. They hope to be filming a feature film in the future and this workshop helped them to better understand the complex world of creating stories in film.
This is a very rough n ready edit that documents the day – the workshop ran from 10am, and due to the Wales Vs England rugby match, finished at 4pm (it is Wales after all!!).
You can view their documentary film of the day here.
